Film studies...

Here are some film studies that I did from one of my favourite film, The Third Man (1949). I started doing these studies after reading a post by Samuel Michlap on cinematic composition. Goal is to reach 1000 of these studies and I just have finished around 250 of em with each frame being drawn within 2-3 minutes. This exercise is really great to study composition. 

Here is the of few movies that Sam recommended for these studies :- The Third Man, Touch of Evil, Citizen Kane, The Night of the Hunter

Here are some 3 value studies that I did for 2nd week assignment of Environment Design class with Nathan Fawkes. Breaking And simplifying an image in just 3 values is a very good exercise to understand the composition and value structure.
